Rev. Dr. Jan Rivero Email
Jan is an ordained
United Methodist clergy member of the Virginia Conference. She
has almost twenty-five years of pastoral experience. She came to Carolina in
1998, after serving at the UVA Wesley Foundation for five years.
Jan characterizes her ministry as a ministry of hospitality and
healing. She takes seriously her responsibility to make all
students feel welcome, and to help bring others to a healthy and
whole relationship with God.
Her husband,
Jeffrey Pugh, is a professor of religious studies at Elon University. She has two children,
two step-children and two grandchildren.

Laura Gallo Email
Laura meets and greets most everyone who comes to Wesley, from
her office on the main floor. She keeps the ministry going with
her efficient and graceful presence in the office. Her hours are
Monday through Thursday, 9 AM to 2 PM. She is the go-to person
for matters such as housing, parking and money. Her husband,
Larry, is associate athletic director at Carolina;
and she has two sons, one who is a student at Carolina.

Miriam Jeffries Email
Miriam joined the UNC Wesley staff in
2007. She is a graduate of
Winthrop
University
in Rock
Hill, SC, where she
studied art. As a Winthrop
Wesley Foundation alum, she believes that campus ministry is an
invaluable resource for young adults, and she is happy to work
where she can put her passion and creativity into action. Miriam’s primary
responsibilities at UNC Wesley include fundraising and
maintaining communications with alumni. Her husband, Nick, is the program
director at Chestnut Ridge Camp and Retreat
Center in Efland,
NC.
