Wesley Dinner & Worship

Sunday Nights, 6:30 PM

University UMC, 150 E. Franklin St.

Worship is at the core of everything we do at Wesley.  It's how we respond to what God is doing in our lives and in the world--and where we cry out to God when it's not clear what , if anything that God is doing.  And, there's always a free meal beforehand--with gluten-free and vegetarian options provided.  If you have other dietary needs, let us know so we can make a plan to accommodate you.

Some weeks we do change venue, particularly on holiday weekends, check this website for any changes.

What to Expect

Food for your body and  for your soul!

When you arrive, our hospitality table is set up  to greet you, make you a name tag, and answer any questions you have.  And, if it's your first time, there's always some Wesley swag.

Everything we do in worship is always student led:  from students playing music in our praise band to reading Scripture, leading prayers, and other parts of the service.  Several times a year, students preach--other weeks our staff preaches or we invite guests to make sure we hear from a wide range of voices.

Every week, worship will be a little different.  Staff and students meet weekly to plan the service based on what we hear God calling us to say and do.  Some weeks it will feature small groups and a chance to get up and move around for an activity.  Music is often a mix of contemporary, hymns, and Gospel.  Most weeks we celebrate Holy Communion.

You can dress however you want.  Most students dress pretty casually and pretty similarly to how they go to class throughout the week.

Our goal is to use everyone's gifts.  Want to join the praise band?  Want to join the worship planning team?  Want to lead part of worship?  Either tell our staff at worship, or you can e-mail us here.  For real, there's room for everyone!
